The film is produced by the founder and CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri , and by Shiner Miyamoto for Nintendo. The film will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures .

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will premiere in cinem on the next March 31, 2023 .
