The company explained that the reduction of operating profit in the first quarter was influenced by the increase in marketing costs for the new mobile game 'Muorijin 3' and the slightly reduced sales of existing games.
Webzen plans to rush its own development project. In order to launch new works in the second half of the year, the company focuses on development and focuses on improving live services of Muorijin 3rd before launch. In addition, the company plans to expand the market share by increasing the launch of overseas markets, starting with the launch of 'Mu Arc Angel 2' Taiwan.
Webzen is currently conducting more than five new development projects aimed at launching the market since the second half of 2022 by developing subsidiaries such as subsidiary Webzen Blue Lock and Webzennova. Development subsidiaries are preparing new works aimed at various age groups, including the MMORPG genre, which has a high share of Webzen, as well as casual games and collectable RPGs.
In addition, the company plans to confirm the possibility of business in the new market by entering the indie game market, which has not been dealt with as a business, as well as console games secured by publishing contracts. Webzen is currently coordinating whether the game has been completed by the company's investment and publishing contracts.
